A man left a bequest of dinars to be spent in the cause of Allah. Abu Darda was asked about it, and he related from the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "The example of one who frees a slave or gives charity at the time of his death is like one who offers a gift only after he has eaten his fill."Abu Habiba said, "Something of that struck me."

أوصى رجل بدنانير في سبيل الله فسئل أبو الدرداء فحدث عن النبي ﷺ أنه قال مثل الذي يعتق أو يتصدق عند موته مثل الذي يهدي بعدما يشبع قال أبو حبيبة فأصابني من ذلك شيء
