Zayd bin Thabit reported,

We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in one of the gardens of Madinah, and there were graves in it. He was riding his mule when it suddenly shied and nearly threw him off. He said, "Does anyone know the people buried in these graves?"A man replied, "Messenger of Allah, they are people who perished in the days of ignorance."He said, "Were it not that you would stop burying your dead, I would have asked Allah to let you hear the punishment of the grave."Then he said to us, "Seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of Hell."We said, "We seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of Hell."Then he said, "Seek refuge in Allah from the trial of the Messiah, the Dajjal."We said, "We seek refuge in Allah from the trial of the Messiah, the Dajjal."Then he said, "Seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the grave."We said, "We seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the grave."Then he said, "Seek refuge in Allah from the trials of life and death."We said, "We seek refuge in Allah from the trials of life and death."

عن زيد بن ثابت قال

كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في حائط من حيطان المدينة فيه أقبر وهو على بغلته فحادت به وكادت أن تلقيه فقال من يعرف أصحاب هذه الأقبر فقال رجل يا رسول الله قوم هلكوا في الجاهلية فقال لولا أن لا تدافنوا لدعوت الله عز وجل أن يسمعكم عذاب القبر ثم قال لنا تعوذوا بالله من عذاب جهنم قلنا نعوذ بالله من عذاب جهنم ثم قال تعوذوا بالله من فتنة المسيح الدجال فقلنا نعوذ بالله من فتنة المسيح الدجال ثم قال تعوذوا بالله من عذاب القبر فقلنا نعوذ بالله من عذاب القبر ثم قال تعوذوا بالله من فتنة المحيا والممات قلنا نعوذ بالله من فتنة المحيا والممات
