Zayd bin Thabit said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from mukhabarah."I asked, "What is mukhabarah?"He replied, "Renting out land in exchange for one-half, one-third, or one-quarter of its produce."

قال زيد بن ثابت نهانا رسول الله ﷺ عن المخابرة قلت وما المخابرة قال يأجر الأرض بنصف أو بثلث أو بربع
Its isnad is sahih. Kathir is Ibn Hisham, Jafar is Ibn Burqan, and Thabit bin Hajjaj is Kullabi Raqqi, and they are all trustworthy. In the Halabi edition it appears as Kathir bin Jafar, which is an error, because Ahmad does not narrate from Kathir bin Jafar, the one mentioned by Ibn Hibban in al-Thiqat. Kathir bin Jafar does not narrate from Thabit bin Hajjaj. The hadith has already appeared at 15153.
