The Prophet ﷺ said, "The deeds of my nation, both good and bad, were shown to me. Among their good deeds I found the removal of harmful objects from the road, and among their bad deeds I found phlegm left in the mosque without being buried."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا مهدي حدثنا واصل عن يحيى بن عقيل عن يحيى بن يعمر كان واصل ربما ذكر أبا الأسود الديلي
عن النبي ﷺ قال عرضت علي أعمال أمتي حسنها وسيئها فوجدت في محاسن أعمالها الأذى يماط عن الطريق ووجدت في مساوئ أعمالها النخاعة تكون في المسجد لا تدفن
Its isnad is sahih. The hadith was narrated by Muslim, 1/390, no. 553, in the Book of Masjids, on the prohibition of spitting in the masjid, and by Ibn Khuzayma, 2/276, no. 1308, and Abu Awana, 1/406, and Bayhaqi, 2/291.
