He mentioned it with its chain of transmission and meaning, but did not include the phrase, "except for something they had heard from their Prophet ﷺ." I do not see Affan as anything but mistaken, having confused it with the hadith of Abu Ashhab, since Affan added this wording, and it was not present in our version.
