The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the state of ihram for Umrah, while his companions entered ihram for Hajj. Rawh said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions entered ihram for Hajj. Whoever did not have a sacrificial animal with him came out of ihram. Among those who did not have a sacrificial animal were Talha and another man, so the two of them came out of ihram.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر وروح قالا حدثنا شعبة قال روح سمعت مسلما القري قال محمد عن مسلم القري قال سمعت
أهل رسول الله ﷺ بالعمرة وأهل أصحابه بالحج قال روح أهل رسول الله ﷺ وأصحابه بالحج فمن لم يكن معه هدي أحل وكان ممن لم يكن معه هدي طلحة ورجل آخر فأحلا
Its isnad is sahih. Muslim Qari is Muslim bin Mikhraq, a trustworthy tabii. Nasai, Ajli, and others rated him trustworthy, and Bukhari mentioned him in al-Kabir 4/1/271. Qari is with a dammah on the qaf and a doubled, kasrah-vowelled ra, an attribution to Banu Qurrah, since he was their client. The hadith was narrated by Muslim, 1:354–355. See also al-Muntaqa, 2383.
