Abu Dharr reported,

The Prophet of Allah ﷺ came to me while I was sleeping in the mosque of Madinah. He nudged me with his foot and said, "Do I see you sleeping in here?"I replied, "Prophet of Allah, sleep overcame me."He asked, "What will you do if you are driven out of it?"I said, "I will go to Syria, the blessed and holy land."He asked, "What will you do if you are driven out of there as well?"I said, "What should I do, Prophet of Allah? Shall I strike with my sword?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "Shall I guide you to something better than that, and closer to right guidance? Listen and obey, and go along with them wherever they lead you."

حدثنا علي بن عبد الله حدثنا معتمر بن سليمان قال سمعت داود بن أبي هند عن أبي حرب بن أبي الأسود الديلي عن عمه

عن أبي ذر قال

أتاني نبي الله ﷺ وأنا نائم في مسجد المدينة فضربني برجله فقال ألا أراك نائما فيه قال قلت يا نبي الله غلبتني عيني قال كيف تصنع إذا أخرجت منه قال آتي الشام الأرض المقدسة المباركة قال كيف تصنع إذا أخرجت منه قال ما أصنع يا نبي الله أضرب بسيفي فقال النبي ﷺ ألا أدلك على ما هو خير من ذلك وأقرب رشدا تسمع وتطيع وتنساق لهم حيث ساقوك
