I said, "Messenger of Allah, the wealthy have taken away the reward. They pray, they fast, and they perform Hajj."He replied, "Do you not also pray, fast, and perform Hajj?"I said, "They give in charity, and we cannot give in charity."He said, "But you too have charity within your reach. Removing a bone from the path is charity, guiding someone along the way is charity, helping the weak with your surplus strength is charity, speaking clearly on behalf of one whose speech is impaired is charity, and even intimacy with your wife is charity."I said, "Messenger of Allah, we fulfill our desire and are rewarded for it?"He answered, "Tell me, if you placed it in something forbidden, would you not be sinning?"I said, "Yes."He said, "So you count the evil against yourselves but do not count the good in your favor?"
