I met Abu Dharr and said to him, "I have heard that you narrate a hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."He replied, "Surely you do not think I would lie about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after hearing it from him. What have you heard from me?"I said, "I heard that you say there are three whom Allah loves and three whom Allah detests."He said, "I said that, and I heard it."I asked, "Who are those whom Allah loves?"He said, "A man who meets the enemy in battle and exposes his chest to them until he is killed or grants victory to his companions. And a group traveling whose journey grows long until they long to touch the ground, so they stop to rest, and one of them withdraws to pray until he wakes them for departure. And a man who has a neighbor who harms him by being his neighbor, yet he endures the harm patiently until death or departure separates them."I asked, "And who are those whom Allah detests?"He said, "The merchant who swears constantly," or he said, "the seller who swears constantly, the miser who reminds others of his favors, and the poor man who is arrogant."
