Abu Dharr reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed one night and recited a single verse, repeating it until morning while bowing and prostrating with it, "If You punish them, they are Your servants, and if You forgive them, indeed You are the Mighty, the Wise" [Maidah 5:118].When morning came, I said, "Messenger of Allah, you kept reciting this verse until daybreak, bowing and prostrating with it."He replied, "I asked my Lord for the right of intercession for my nation, and He granted it to me. It will, Allah willing, reach everyone who does not associate anything with Allah ."

حدثنا محمد بن فضيل حدثني فليت العامري عن جسرة العامرية

عن أبي ذر قال

صلى رسول الله ﷺ ليلة فقرأ بآية حتى أصبح يركع بها ويسجد بها {إن تعذبهم فإنهم عبادك وإن تغفر لهم فإنك أنت العزيز الحكيم} فلما أصبح قلت يا رسول الله ما زلت تقرأ هذه الآية حتى أصبحت تركع بها وتسجد بها قال إني سألت ربي عز وجل الشفاعة لأمتي فأعطانيها وهي نائلة إن شاء الله لمن لا يشرك بالله عز وجل شيئا
