Mukhariq reported,

We set out for the pilgrimage, and when we reached al-Rabadhah I said to my companions, "Go on ahead," and I stayed behind. I went to Abu Dharr and found him praying. I noticed that he prolonged his standing and performed many bowings and prostrations. I mentioned this to him, and he said, "I have spared no effort to do my best. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever performs a bowing or a prostration, by it he is raised one degree and one sin is wiped away from him.'"

حدثنا يحيى بن آدم حدثنا زهير عن أبي إسحاق

عن المخارق قال

خرجنا حجاجا فلما بلغنا الربذة قلت لأصحابي تقدموا وتخلفت فأتيت أبا ذر وهو يصلي فرأيته يطيل القيام ويكثر الركوع والسجود فذكرت ذلك له فقال ما ألوت أن أحسن إني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من ركع ركعة أو سجد سجدة رفع بها درجة وحطت عنه بها خطيئة
