The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led them in prayer. He recited one of the long surahs, then performed five bowings and two prostrations. Then he stood for the second unit and recited another of the long surahs, then performed five bowings and two prostrations. After that, he sat facing the qiblah, supplicating until the eclipse cleared.

انكسفت الشمس على عهد رسول الله ﷺ وإن رسول الله ﷺ صلى بهم فقرأ بسورة من الطول ثم ركع خمس ركعات وسجدتين ثم قام الثانية فقرأ بسورة من الطول ثم ركع خمس ركعات وسجد سجدتين ثم جلس كما هو مستقبل القبلة يدعو حتى انجلى كسوفها
