Ubayy bin Kaab reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Allah has commanded me to recite to you."So he recited to me, "Those who disbelieved among the People of the Book and the polytheists were not to depart from disbelief until there came to them clear evidence, a messenger from Allah reciting purified scriptures, within which are correct writings. Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence" [Bayyinah 98:1–4].Indeed, the religion before Allah is pure monotheism, not polytheism, nor Judaism, nor Christianity. Whoever does good will not have it denied to him.Shuba said, then he recited verses after that, then he recited, "If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would seek a third, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust."He said, then he concluded it with what remained of the surah.

عن أبي بن كعب قال

قال لي رسول الله ﷺ إن الله تبارك وتعالى أمرني أن أقرأ عليك قال فقرأ علي {لم يكن الذين كفروا من أهل الكتاب والمشركين منفكين حتى تأتيهم البينة رسول من الله يتلو صحفا مطهرة فيها كتب قيمة وما تفرق الذين أوتوا الكتاب إلا من بعد ما جاءتهم البينة} إن الدين عند الله الحنيفية غير المشركة ولا اليهودية ولا النصرانية ومن يفعل خيرا فلن يكفره قال شعبة ثم قرأ آيات بعدها ثم قرأ لو أن لابن آدم واديين من مال لسأل واديا ثالثا ولا يملأ جوف ابن آدم إلا التراب قال ثم ختمها بما بقي منها
