Ibn Masud would not write the two surahs of refuge in his copy of the Quran, and he said, "I bear witness that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told me that Jibreel said to him, "Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak" [Falaq 113:1], so he said it. Then he said to him, "Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind" [Nas 114:1], so he said it."So we say what the Prophet ﷺ said.
