Nothing has troubled my heart since I embraced Islam except that I once recited a verse, and another man recited it differently from my recitation. So we came to the Prophet ﷺ.I said, "Did you not teach me to recite such-and-such a verse?"He said, "Yes."The other man then said, "Did you not teach me to recite such-and-such a verse?"He said, "Yes. Jibreel came to me on my right and Mikail on my left. Jibreel said, 'Recite the Quran in one mode.' Then Mikail said, 'Ask Him for more,' until it reached seven modes, each of them sufficient and complete."

ما حك في صدري شيء منذ أسلمت إلا أني قرأت آية وقرأها رجل غير قراءتي فأتينا النبي ﷺ قال قلت أقرأتني آية كذا وكذا قال نعم قال فقال الآخر ألم تقرئني آية كذا وكذا قال نعم أتاني جبريل عن يميني وميكائيل عن يساري فقال جبريل اقرأ القرآن على حرف واحد فقال ميكائيل استزده حتى بلغ سبعة أحرف كلها شاف كاف
