Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

Umar addressed us from the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Ali is the most knowledgeable judge among us, and Ubayy is the best reciter among us. Yet we do set aside some of what Ubayy says. Ubayy heard certain things from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and says, 'I will not abandon anything I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ,' though revelation came down after that which abrogated some of it."
