The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the dawn prayer, and during it he kept reaching out to grab at something in front of him. When he finished, we asked him about it.He said, "That was Satan. He cast sparks of fire upon my feet to distract me from the prayer. I tried to seize him, and had I caught him, he would have been tied to one of the pillars of the mosque so that the children of Madinah could go around looking at him."
حدثنا حسن بن موسى حدثنا زهير حدثنا سماك بن حرب قال سمعت
صلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ صلاة الصبح فجعل ينتهز شيئا قدامه فلما انصرف سألناه فقال ذاك الشيطان ألقى على قدمي شررا من نار ليفتنني عن الصلاة قال وقد انتهزته ولو أخذته لنيط إلى سارية من سواري المسجد حتى يطيف به ولدان أهل المدينة
