I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when Maez bin Malik was brought to him. He mentioned the meaning of the report, except that he said, "One of them stays behind bleating like a he-goat."I narrated this to Hakam and it impressed him. He asked me, "What is al-kuthbah?"So I asked Simak about al-kuthbah, and he said, "A small amount of milk."
حدثنا حجاج حدثنا شعبة عن سماك بن حرب قال سمعت
رأيت رسول الله ﷺ أتي بماعز بن مالك فذكر معناه إلا أنه قال تخلف أحدهم ينبب كنبيب التيس قال فحدثته الحكم فأعجبه وقال لي ما الكثبة فسألت سماكا عن الكثبة فقال اللبن القليل
