Jabir bin Samura reported,

A short, disheveled, muscular man wearing only a lower garment was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, having committed adultery. The Prophet ﷺ turned him away twice, then ordered that he be stoned, and he was stoned.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whenever we set out as warriors in the cause of Allah , one of you stays behind bleating like a male goat, offering a little milk to one of them. By Allah , if Allah enables me to seize any such man, I will surely make an example of him."The narrator said, Saeed bin Jubayr later related this hadith to me and said that the Prophet ﷺ turned him away four times.

جابر بن سمرة قال

أتي رسول الله ﷺ برجل قصير أشعث ذي عضلات عليه إزار وقد زنى فرده مرتين قال ثم أمر به فرجم فقال رسول الله ﷺ كلما نفرنا غازين في سبيل الله عز وجل تخلف أحدكم له نبيب كنبيب التيس يمنح إحداهن الكثبة إن الله تبارك وتعالى لا يمكنني من أحد منهم إلا جعلته نكالا أو نكلته قال فحدثنيه سعيد بن جبير فقال إنه رده أربع مرات
