I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivering the sermon standing, then he would sit down briefly without speaking, then stand and deliver another sermon from his pulpit. So if anyone tells you he saw him delivering the sermon while seated, do not believe him.
حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا أبو عوانة حدثنا سماك بن حرب
رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يخطب قائما ثم يقعد قعدة لا يتكلم ثم يقوم فيخطب خطبة أخرى على منبره فمن حدثك أنه يراه يخطب قاعدا فلا تصدقه
