The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out one night and passed by me. He called me, so I came out to him. Then he passed by Abu Bakr and called him, and he came out to him. Then he passed by Umar and called him, and he came out to him. He continued on until he entered an orchard belonging to one of the Ansar. He said to the owner of the orchard, "Feed us some fresh dates."The man brought a cluster of dates and placed it before them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate, and his companions ate. Then he called for cool water and drank. He said, "You will surely be questioned about this on the Day of Resurrection."Umar took the cluster and struck it against the ground until the fresh dates scattered before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Then he said, "Messenger of Allah, are we really to be questioned about this on the Day of Resurrection?"He replied, "Yes, except for three things. A rag with which a man covers his nakedness, a piece of bread by which he stops his hunger, or a shelter in which he takes refuge from heat and cold."
