Someone who heard the Prophet ﷺ reported that while he was in Wadi al-Qura mounted on his horse, a man from Balqayn asked him, "Messenger of Allah, who are these people?"He replied, "These are the ones upon whom wrath has fallen," pointing to the Jews. The man asked, "And who are these?"He answered, "These are the misguided ones," meaning the Christians. Then a man came to him and said, "Your freedman," or he said, "your servant so-and-so, has been martyred."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Rather, he is being dragged into the Fire in a cloak he stole from the spoils."
Its isnad is sahih, its narrators are well-known and reliable. Haythami said in 6/310, "Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih." This hadith has appeared many times before. See 12467 and 12789. As for the boy, it is said that he was the boy of Muqawqis, whom he gave as a gift to the Prophet ﷺ.
