I had previously forbidden you from eating the meat of sacrificial animals beyond three days so that it would be enough for everyone. But Allah the Exalted has now brought abundance, so eat, store it away, and seek reward through it. These days are days of eating, drinking, and remembrance of Allah the Exalted.A man said, "Messenger of Allah, in the days of ignorance we used to offer the atirah sacrifice in Rajab. What do you command us to do?"He replied, "Sacrifice for Allah in whatever month it may be, honor Allah , and feed others."Another man said, "Messenger of Allah, in the days of ignorance we used to offer the faraa sacrifice. What do you command us to do?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "For every herd of grazing sheep, there is a faraa. Let your flock raise it until, when it is fit to be ridden, you slaughter it and give its meat in charity to the wayfarer. That is what is best."

حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن خالد عن أبي قلابة عن أبي المليح قال خالد وأحسبني قد سمعته عن أبي المليح

عن نبيشة رجل من هذيل من أصحاب النبي ﷺ أنه قال

إني كنت نهيتكم عن لحوم الأضاحي فوق ثلاث كيما تسعكم فقد جاء الله تعالى بالخير فكلوا وادخروا واتجروا وإن هذه الأيام أيام أكل وشرب وذكر لله تعالى فقال رجل يا رسول الله إنا كنا نعتر عتيرة في الجاهلية في رجب فما تأمرنا فقال اذبحوا لله تبارك وتعالى في أي شهر ما كان وبروا الله عز وجل وأطعموا فقال رجل آخر يا رسول الله إنا كنا نفرع فرعا في الجاهلية فما تأمرنا قال فقال رسول الله ﷺ في كل سائمة من الغنم فرع تغذوه غنمك حتى إذا استحمل ذبحته فتصدقت بلحمه على ابن السبيل فإن ذلك هو خير
