The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever speaks about the Quran without knowledge, let him take his seat in the Fire."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن عبد الأعلى الثعلبي عن سعيد بن جبير
قال رسول الله ﷺ من قال في القرآن بغير علم فليتبوأ مقعده من النار
Its chain is daif, due to the weakness of Abdul-Ala bin Amir Thalabi. Tirmidhi reported the hadith at 4:64 and said, "The hadith is hasan," and in some copies of his book there is an addition, "sahih." Munawi said in Sharh Jami Saghir 8899, "Abu Dawud also reported it from him in the Book of Knowledge, and Nasai in the Book of Virtues, contrary to what the author's approach implies, that Tirmidhi alone reported it among the six books." Moreover, in it, from every angle, is Abdul-Ala bin Amir Kufi, of whom Ahmad and others said, "Daif," and they rejected Tirmidhi's grading it as sahih.I did not find it in the Book of Knowledge in Sunan Abu Dawud, rather there is in it another hadith of Jundab at 3:358. Nor is there in the printed Nasai a book for virtues, so perhaps it is in his Sunan al-Kubra. It will also come again at 2429 and 3025, and will come again at length at 2976, all of them by way of Abdul-Ala Thalabi.
