We were waiting for the Prophet ﷺ when he came out, his head dripping from ablution or a full bath. He prayed, and when he had finished the prayer, the people began questioning him, "Messenger of Allah, are we at fault in such and such?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "No. People, the religion of Allah is ease," saying it three times.Yazid said on one occasion, "The people began saying, 'Messenger of Allah, what do we say about such and such? What do we say about such and such?'"

Its chain of transmission is hasan, due to Asim bin Hilal Bariqi, Abu Nadr Basri. Ibn Hibban rated him trustworthy, though some found him weak. As for Ghadira bin Urwa, he is said to have had companionship with the Prophet, and Ibn Hibban affirmed this for him, while others rated him trustworthy. The hadith "Religion is ease" was narrated by the leading scholars. See Bukhari 1/93, number 39 in Fath, Book of Faith, chapter on religion being ease, and Nasai 8/121.
