Aaiz bin Amr reported,

Salman, Suhayb, and Bilal were sitting with a group of people when Abu Sufyan bin Harb passed by them. They said, "The swords of Allah have not yet taken their due from the neck of Allah's enemy."Abu Bakr said, "Do you say this about the elder and chief of Quraysh?"The Prophet ﷺ was informed of this and said, "Abu Bakr, perhaps you angered them. If you have angered them, you have angered your Lord ."So Abu Bakr returned to them and said, "My brothers, perhaps I angered you?"They replied, "No, Abu Bakr. May Allah forgive you."

أن سلمان وصهيبا وبلالا كانوا قعودا في أناس فمر بهم أبو سفيان بن حرب فقالوا ما أخذت سيوف الله تبارك وتعالى من عنق عدو الله مأخذها بعد فقال أبو بكر أتقولون هذا لشيخ قريش وسيدها قال فأخبر بذلك النبي ﷺ فقال يا أبا بكر لعلك أغضبتهم فلئن كنت أغضبتهم لقد أغضبت ربك تبارك وتعالى فرجع إليهم فقال أي إخوتنا لعلكم غضبتم فقالوا لا يا أبا بكر يغفر الله لك
