There was very little water left, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed his ablution in a cup or a bowl, and he sprinkled it upon us.He said, "The fortunate one among us was the one whom it touched, and we believed it had reached every one of the people."He said, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the forenoon prayer.
حدثنا محمد بن أبي عدي عن سليمان يعني التيمي عن شيخ في مجلس أبي عثمان

Its chain is daif due to the anonymity of the narrator reporting from Aidh bin Amr. Haythami said the same in 2/235, and he also attributed it to Tabarani, where it appears in 18/21, no. 34.
