Abu Jurayy reported,

I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting wrapped in a cloak, with its fringe falling over his feet. I asked, "Which of you is Muhammad?" or, "Which of you is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He gestured with his hand toward himself.I said, "Messenger of Allah, I am from the desert people and share in their roughness, so give me some advice."He said, "Do not belittle any act of kindness, even meeting your brother with a cheerful face, even pouring from your bucket into the vessel of someone seeking water. If a man insults you with something he knows about you, do not insult him with something you know about him, for the reward will be yours and the sin will be his. Beware of letting your lower garment trail, for trailing the garment is from arrogance, and Allah does not love arrogance. And do not curse anyone."After that I never cursed anyone, neither a sheep nor a camel.

عن أبي جري جابر بن سليم قال

أتيت رسول الله ﷺ وهو محتب بشملة له وقد وقع هدبها على قدميه فقلت أيكم محمد أو رسول الله ﷺ فأومأ بيده إلى نفسه فقلت يا رسول الله إني من أهل البادية وفي جفاؤهم فأوصني فقال لا تحقرن من المعروف شيئا ولو أن تلقى أخاك ووجهك منبسط ولو أن تفرغ من دلوك في إناء المستسقي وإن امرؤ شتمك بما يعلم فيك فلا تشتمه بما تعلم فيه فإنه يكون لك أجره وعليه وزره وإياك وإسبال الإزار فإن إسبال الإزار من المخيلة وإن الله عز وجل لا يحب المخيلة ولا تسبن أحدا فما سببت بعده أحدا ولا شاة ولا بعيرا
