On the day of the conquest of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while mounted on his she-camel, recited Surah al-Fath. Abu Iyas then recited it himself with the same melodious tone and said, "Were it not that people would crowd around me, I would recite it in this melodious manner."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا شعبة قال أبو إياس أخبرنا قال سمعت
كان رسول الله ﷺ يوم فتح مكة وهو على ناقته قرأ سورة الفتح قال فقرأ أبو إياس ثم رجع وقال لولا أن يجتمع الناس علي لقرأت بهذا اللحن
