Malik bin Huwayrith used to come to our place of prayer and talk with us. One day the time for prayer arrived, so we said to him, "Step forward and lead us."He replied, "No, let one of you step forward, and I will tell you why I do not step forward. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'If anyone visits a people, he should not lead them in prayer. Rather, a man from among them should lead them.'"
