A man was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ, and someone praised him with good words.The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "Woe to you, you have cut your brother's neck. By Allah, if he had heard it, he would never have prospered."Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you must praise another, let him say, 'By Allah, I think so-and-so is such and such, though I do not declare anyone pure before Allah.'"

ذكر رجل عند النبي ﷺ فأثنى عليه رجل خيرا فقال نبي الله ﷺ ويحك قطعت عنق أخيك والله لو سمعها ما أفلح أبدا ثم قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا أثنى أحدكم على أحد فليقل والله إن فلانا ولا أزكي على الله أحدا
