One day, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering a sermon, Hasan bin Ali came in and climbed up to him on the pulpit. The Prophet ﷺ embraced him, wiped his hand over his head, and said, "This son of mine is a master, and perhaps Allah will reconcile two great factions of the Muslims through him."
حدثنا مؤمل حدثنا حماد بن زيد حدثنا علي بن زيد عن الحسن
بينا رسول الله ﷺ ذات يوم يخطب إذ جاء الحسن بن علي فصعد إليه المنبر فضمه النبي ﷺ إليه ومسح على رأسه وقال ابني هذا سيد ولعل الله أن يصلح على يديه بين فئتين عظيمتين من المسلمين
