Abu Bakra reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us on the Day of Sacrifice and said, "What day is this?" Or he said, "Do you know what day this is?"We replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best."He fell silent until we thought he would give it a different name. Then he said, "Is it not the Day of Sacrifice?"We said, "Yes indeed."He said, "What month is this?" Or he said, "Do you know what month this is?"We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best."He fell silent until we thought he would give it a different name. Then he said, "Is it not Dhul-Hijjah?"We said, "Yes indeed."He said, "What land is this?"We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best."He fell silent until we thought he would give it a different name. Then he said, "Is it not the Sacred Town?"We said, "Yes indeed."He said, "Your blood and your property are inviolable to you, as sacred as this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this land of yours, until the day you meet your Lord . Listen, have I conveyed the message?"They said, "Yes."He said, "Allah, bear witness. Let those present convey it to those absent, for many a one to whom it is conveyed retains it better than the one who heard it directly. Listen, do not return to disbelief after me, striking each other's necks."

حدثنا أبو عامر حدثنا قرة بن خالد عن محمد بن سيرين قال حدثني عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكرة عن أبيه ورجل في نفسي أفضل من عبد الرحمن حميد بن عبد الرحمن

عن أبي بكرة قال

خطبنا رسول الله ﷺ يوم النحر فقال أي يوم هذا أو قال أتدرون أي يوم هذا قال قلنا الله ورسوله أعلم قال فسكت حتى ظننا أنه سيسميه بغير اسمه ثم قال أليس يوم النحر قال قلنا بلى قال فأي شهر هذا أو قال أو تدرون أي شهر هذا قلنا الله ورسوله أعلم قال فسكت حتى ظننا أنه سيسميه بغير اسمه قال أليس ذا الحجة قلنا بلى قال أي بلد هذا قلنا الله ورسوله أعلم قال فسكت حتى ظننا أنه سيسميه بغير اسمه قال أليست البلدة قلنا بلى قال فإن دماءكم وأموالكم حرام عليكم كحرمة يومكم هذا في شهركم هذا في بلدكم هذا إلى يوم تلقون ربكم تبارك وتعالى ألا هل بلغت قالوا نعم قال اللهم اشهد ليبلغ الشاهد الغائب فرب مبلغ أوعى من سامع ألا لا ترجعن بعدي كفارا يضرب بعضكم رقاب بعض
