Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Bakra reported,
Abu Bakra saw some people praying the forenoon prayer and said, "They are praying a prayer that neither the Messenger of Allah ﷺ nor most of his companions 
ever performed."

عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكرة قال
رأى أبو بكرة ناسا يصلون الضحى فقال إنهم ليصلون صلاة ما صلاها رسول الله ﷺ ولا عامة أصحابه رضي الله عنهم
Its isnad is hasan, on account of Fudayl bin Fadala, though others have differed with him. Indeed, a great many reports have come with a similar meaning, that the companions used to pray Duha, and we have already indicated that this is found in the Sahihayn. See the difference of opinion in Fath al-Bari 3/55, number 1177, and 3/56, number 1178, along with their commentary. But perhaps what is meant is his praying it in front of the people.
