A man reported,

The cavalry of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raided us, so I set off to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When I reached him he was eating, and he said to me, "Come closer and eat."I said, "I am fasting."He said, "Come closer," or he said, "Come here and let me tell you about that. Allah has excused the traveler from fasting and from half of the prayer, and He has excused the pregnant and the nursing woman as well."The narrator said that afterward he used to feel deep regret, saying, "If only I had eaten from the food of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he invited me to it!"

حدثنا عبد الصمد حدثنا أبو هلال حدثنا عبد الله بن سوادة القشيري عن أنس بن مالك أحد بني كعب أخو بني قشير قال أغارت علينا خيل رسول الله ﷺ فانطلقت إلى رسول الله ﷺ فانتهيت إليه وهو يأكل فقال لي ادن فكل فقلت إني صائم فذكر الحديث
