Qatada reported, and the man was called Maruf, that if his name was not Zuhayr bin Uthman then I do not know what his name was, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The wedding feast on the first day is an obligation, on the second day it is a kindness, and on the third day it is for show and reputation."

قتادة وكان يقال له معروف إن لم يكن اسمه زهير بن عثمان فلا أدري ما اسمه أن رسول الله ﷺ قال الوليمة أول يوم حق والثاني معروف واليوم الثالث سمعة ورياء
