The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pause silently on two occasions, once when he entered the prayer and once when he finished the recitation. Imran bin Husayn rejected this, so they wrote to Ubayy bin Kaab, and he wrote back to them confirming that Samura had spoken the truth.
