I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "I did not come to you until I had sworn by all of these fingers of mine," (Affan showed us, holding both his palms together) "that I would not come to you. So by the One who sent you with the truth, what did He send you with?"He said, "Islam."I asked, "And what is Islam?"He said, "That your heart submits to Allah Almighty, that you turn your face toward Allah Almighty, that you perform the prescribed prayer, and that you give the obligatory Zakat. They are two helpful companions. Allah will not accept from anyone repentance for associating partners with Him after he has embraced Islam."I asked, "What is the right of one of our wives upon us?"He said, "That you feed her when you eat, that you clothe her when you clothe yourself, that you do not strike the face, that you do not insult her, and that you do not avoid her except within the house."He said, "You will be gathered here," and he gestured with his hand toward Sham, "walking and riding, and upon your faces you will be presented to Allah Almighty, with muzzles upon your mouths. The first part of one of you to speak will be his thigh."

أتيت رسول الله ﷺ فقلت ما أتيتك حتى حلفت عدد أصابعي هذه أن لا آتيك أرانا عفان وطبق كفيه فبالذي بعثك بالحق ما الذي بعثك به قال الإسلام قال وما الإسلام قال أن يسلم قلبك لله تعالى وأن توجه وجهك إلى الله تعالى وتصلي الصلاة المكتوبة وتؤدي الزكاة المفروضة أخوان نصيران لا يقبل الله عز وجل من أحد توبة أشرك بعد إسلامه قلت ما حق زوجة أحدنا عليه قال تطعمها إذا طعمت وتكسوها إذا اكتسيت ولا تضرب الوجه ولا تقبح ولا تهجر إلا في البيت قال تحشرون هاهنا وأومأ بيده إلى نحو الشام مشاة وركبانا وعلى وجوهكم تعرضون على الله تعالى وعلى أفواهكم الفدام وأول ما يعرب عن أحدكم فخذه
