Hasan Basri reported,

I was walking with Imran bin Husayn, each of us holding the other's hand, when we passed by a beggar who was reciting the Quran. Imran stopped me and said, "Wait, let us listen to the Quran."When the man finished, he began asking for charity. Imran said, "Let us go. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Recite the Quran and ask Allah by it, for there will come after you people who recite the Quran and use it to beg from others.'"

حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا شريك بن عبد الله عن منصور عن خيثمة

عن الحسن قال

كنت أمشي مع عمران بن حصين أحدنا آخذ بيد صاحبه فمررنا بسائل يقرأ القرآن فاحتبسني عمران وقال قف نستمع القرآن فلما فرغ سأل فقال عمران انطلق بنا إني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول اقرءوا القرآن وسلوا الله تبارك وتعالى به فإن من بعدكم قوما يقرءون القرآن يسألون الناس به
