The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the milk of an animal that feeds on filth, the eating of any animal tied up and used as a target for shooting, and drinking directly from the mouth of a waterskin.
حدثنا يحيى عن هشام حدثنا قتادة عن عكرمة
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن لبن شاة الجلالة وعن المجثمة وعن الشرب من في السقاء
Its isnad is sahih. Tirmidhi related it, 3:90, and said, hasan sahih. His commentator, citing Talkhis, attributed it to the compilers of the Sunan, and to Ibn Hibban, Hakim, and Bayhaqi. See also 1863.Jallalah, with a doubled lam, Ibn Athir said, the jallalah among animals is one that eats excrement, and jillah means dung, so the word was used in place of "excrement."Mujaththamah, with a doubled and open thaa, Ibn Athir said, this is any animal that is set up and shot at until it is killed, though it is more commonly used for birds, rabbits, and similar creatures that crouch on the ground, meaning they cling to it and press themselves against it."From the mouth of the waterskin" means from the opening of the waterskin.This will come again at 2161, 2671, and 2951.
