Abu Musa Ashari reported,

I said to a man, "Come, let us devote this day of ours to Allah ." By Allah, it was as if the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had witnessed that very day, for he then delivered a sermon and said, "Among them is one who says, 'Come, let us devote this day of ours to Allah .'" He kept repeating it until I wished that the earth would swallow me up.

حدثنا يزيد قال أخبرنا حماد بن سلمة عن ثابت البناني قال حدثني من سمع حطان بن عبد الله يحدث

عن أبي موسى الأشعري قال

قلت لرجل هلم فلنجعل يومنا هذا لله عز وجل فوالله لكأن رسول الله ﷺ شاهد هذا اليوم فخطب فقال ومنهم من يقول هلم فلنجعل يومنا هذا لله عز وجل فما زال يقولها حتى تمنيت أن الأرض ساخت بي
