Abu Musa Ashari reported,

He said, "People, beware of this shirk, for it is more hidden than the crawling of ants."Abdullah bin Hazn and Qays bin Mudarib stood up and said to him, "By Allah, you must explain what you just said, or we will go to Umar, whether we are given permission or not."He replied, "Rather, I will explain what I said. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us one day and said, 'People, beware of this shirk, for it is more hidden than the crawling of ants.'Someone whom Allah willed to speak said to him, 'How can we guard against it when it is more hidden than the crawling of ants, Messenger of Allah?'He said, 'Say, O Allah, we seek refuge in You from associating anything with You that we know of, and we ask Your forgiveness for what we do not know.'"

فقال يا أيها الناس اتقوا هذا الشرك فإنه أخفى من دبيب النمل فقام إليه عبد الله بن حزن وقيس بن المضارب فقالا والله لتخرجن مما قلت أو لنأتين عمر مأذون لنا أو غير مأذون قال بل أخرج مما قلت خطبنا رسول الله ﷺ ذات يوم فقال أيها الناس اتقوا هذا الشرك فإنه أخفى من دبيب النمل فقال له من شاء الله أن يقول وكيف نتقيه وهو أخفى من دبيب النمل يا رسول الله قال قولوا اللهم إنا نعوذ بك من أن نشرك بك شيئا نعلمه ونستغفرك لما لا نعلم
