They were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey when they began raising their voices in supplication. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You are not calling upon one who is deaf or absent. You are calling upon one who is near and responsive, who hears your supplication and answers it."Then he said, "Abdullah bin Qays," or "Abu Musa, shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? There is no power and no strength except through Allah."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن عاصم عن أبي عثمان
أنهم كانوا مع رسول الله ﷺ في سفر فرفعوا أصواتهم بالدعاء فقال رسول الله ﷺ إنكم لا تدعون أصم ولا غائبا إنكم تدعون قريبا مجيبا يسمع دعاءكم ويستجيب ثم قال يا عبد الله بن قيس أو يا أبا موسى ألا أدلك على كنز من كنوز الجنة لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
