We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military expedition. Whenever we climbed a hill, ascended a height, or descended into a valley, we would raise our voices proclaiming the greatness of Allah.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew near to us and said, "People, go easy on yourselves. You are not calling upon someone deaf or absent. You are calling upon One who is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. The One you are calling upon is closer to each of you than the neck of his own mount. Abdullah bin Qays, shall I teach you a phrase that is among the treasures of Paradise? There is no power and no strength except with Allah."

كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في غزاة فجعلنا لا نصعد شرفا ولا نعلو شرفا ولا نهبط في واد إلا رفعنا أصواتنا بالتكبير قال فدنا منا رسول الله ﷺ فقال أيها الناس اربعوا على أنفسكم فإنكم ما تدعون أصم ولا غائبا إنما تدعون سميعا بصيرا إن الذي تدعون أقرب إلى أحدكم من عنق راحلته يا عبد الله بن قيس ألا أعلمك كلمة من كنوز الجنة لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
