A boy was born to me, so I brought him to the Prophet ﷺ. He named him Ibrahim and softened a date in his mouth before placing it in the child's mouth.
حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد وسمعته أنا من عبد الله بن محمد حدثنا أبو أسامة عن بريد بن أبي بردة عن أبي بردة
ولد لي غلام فأتيت به النبي ﷺ فسماه إبراهيم وحنكه بتمرة
Its isnad is sahih. It is found in Bukhari 10/578, no. 6198, Fath, in the Book of Manners, chapter on those named after the names of the prophets, and in Muslim 4/1690, no. 2145, and in Tirmidhi 5/680, no. 3826, where he said, "Hasan gharib."
