The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I was granted victory through the east wind, and Aad was destroyed by the west wind."

Its isnad is sahih. Masud bin Malik Kufi is the freed slave of Saeed bin Jubayr, and he is trustworthy. Bukhari mentioned him in Kabir 4/1/423. Muslim narrated the hadith in 1/245-246 through the route of Masud bin Malik, and both he and Bukhari narrated it through the route of Mujahid from Ibn Abbas. See Fath al-Bari 2:432 and 6:215-216, 268 and 7:309.Al-Saba, with fatha on the sad, is a well-known wind called al-Qabul, with fatha on the qaf, because it faces the door of the Kaaba, since it blows from the direction of sunrise. Its opposite is al-Dabur. This will come again at 2031 and 2984.
