Ali lost consciousness, and the mother of his child wept over him. When he came to, he said to her, "Has it not reached you what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said?" He said, I asked her about it, and she said, "He is not one of us who wails loudly, shaves his head, or tears his clothes in grief."

أنه أغمي عليه فبكت عليه أم ولده فلما أفاق قال لها أما بلغك ما قال رسول الله ﷺ قال فسألتها فقالت ليس منا من سلق وحلق وخرق
Its isnad is sahih. Yazid bin Aws al-Kufi was among the Followers and is deemed trustworthy, with no one having criticized him. The hadith was narrated by Bukhari 7/161, Muslim 1/100, no. 104, in the book of Faith, on the prohibition of striking the cheeks, and Abu Dawud 3/496, no. 3130, and Nasai 4/21, no. 1866, and Ibn Abu Shayba 3/290, and Ibn Majah 1/505, no. 1586.
