Abu Musa Ashari reported,

I was with the Prophet ﷺ, and I believe he said it was in a garden. A man came and gave the greeting of peace.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Go, grant him permission to enter, and give him the glad tidings of Paradise."I went, and there was Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him. I said, "Come in, and rejoice at the news of Paradise."He kept praising Allah until he sat down.Then another man came and gave the greeting of peace. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Grant him permission to enter, and give him the glad tidings of Paradise."I went, and there was Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him. I said, "Come in, and rejoice at the news of Paradise."He kept praising Allah until he sat down.Then another man came and gave the greeting of peace. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Go, grant him permission to enter, and give him the glad tidings of Paradise, along with a severe trial that will befall him."I went, and there was Uthman. I said, "Come in, and rejoice at the news of Paradise, along with a severe trial that will befall you."He began saying, "O Allah, grant me patience," until he sat down.

حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن قتادة عن أبي عثمان النهدي

عن أبي موسى الأشعري قال

كنت مع النبي ﷺ حسبته قال في حائط فجاء رجل فسلم فقال النبي ﷺ اذهب فأذن له وبشره بالجنة فذهبت فإذا هو أبو بكر رضي الله تعالى عنه فقلت ادخل وأبشر بالجنة فما زال يحمد الله عز وجل حتى جلس ثم جاء آخر فسلم فقال ائذن له وبشره بالجنة فانطلقت فإذا هو عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله تعالى عنه فقلت ادخل وأبشر بالجنة فما زال يحمد الله عز وجل حتى جلس ثم جاء آخر فسلم فقال اذهب فأذن له وبشره بالجنة على بلوى شديدة قال فانطلقت فإذا هو عثمان فقلت ادخل وأبشر بالجنة على بلوى شديدة قال فجعل يقول اللهم صبرا حتى جلس
