Abu Musa Ashari reported,

Two men from my tribe came along with me. We came to the Prophet ﷺ and they spoke and addressed him, hinting that they wished to be given some position of authority. The face of the Prophet ﷺ changed, or a change was seen in his face.The Prophet ﷺ said, "The most treacherous of you in my sight is the one who seeks such a position. So hold fast to the fear of Allah ."He never sought their help in anything thereafter.

عن أبي موسى الأشعري قال

قدم رجلان معي من قومي قال فأتينا إلى النبي ﷺ فخطبا وتكلما فجعلا يعرضان بالعمل فتغير وجه النبي ﷺ أو رئي في وجهه فقال النبي ﷺ إن أخونكم عندي من يطلبه فعليكم بتقوى الله عز وجل قال فما استعان بهما على شيء
