The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Before the Hour there will be al-harj."They asked, "What is al-harj?"He replied, "Killing."They said, "More than the killing we already do? We kill more than seventy thousand every year."He said, "It is not your killing of the polytheists, but rather your killing of one another."They asked, "Will we still have our minds at that time?"He answered, "The minds of the people of that age will be taken away, and in their place will be left worthless dregs of people, most of whom will think they are upon something when they are upon nothing."Affan added in his version that Abu Musa said, "By the One in whose hand my soul is, I find no way out of it for myself or for you, if it overtakes me and you, except that we leave it as we entered it, having shed no blood and seized no wealth from it."
حدثنا عبد الصمد وعفان قالا حدثنا حماد بن سلمة أخبرنا علي بن زيد عن حطان بن عبد الله الرقاشي
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إن بين يدي الساعة الهرج قالوا وما الهرج قال القتل قالوا أكثر مما نقتل إنا لنقتل كل عام أكثر من سبعين ألفا قال إنه ليس بقتلكم المشركين ولكن قتل بعضكم بعضا قالوا ومعنا عقولنا يومئذ قال إنه لتنزع عقول أهل ذلك الزمان ويخلف له هباء من الناس يحسب أكثرهم أنهم على شيء وليسوا على شيء قال عفان في حديثه قال أبو موسى والذي نفسي بيده ما أجد لي ولكم منها مخرجا إن أدركتني وإياكم إلا أن نخرج منها كما دخلنا فيها لم نصب منها دما ولا مالا
